In the studio, she later demonstrates how to make a delicious chunky apple sauce. Later on the program, Vicky McCleaf stops by from McCleaf’s Orchard to talk about apples. Grace Banahene, owner of Grace’s Pastries, stops by with Portuguese sweet bread which complements the apple sauce perfectly and sits down with Tooran for an interview.

Episode Recipe: Chunky Apple Sauce
Ingredients:
6 medium apples
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon (optional)
Directions:
1. Peel and core apples. Cut into 1 inch chunks.
2. Place apples in a large saucepan or medium Dutch oven.
3. Add lemon juice, water, sugar and vanilla (and cinnamon if using).
4. Cook on medium heat for 15 minutes, then on low for another 10 minutes, or until apples are soft.
5. Serve warm or cold and enjoy over waffles, Portuguese sweat bread, or just on its own.
